Via Fonts in Use, I loved these two enthusiastic and heavily researched posts on the cover design and fonts utilized for a series of Otis Redding singles (26 of them, to mark his passing at age 26) as well as an LP issued in 1968.

An essay at the New York Review of Books on the anniversary of Redding's death last year was among my favorite longform writing in 2017.
