Dominic Umile writes about comics and other books. His criticism and features have appeared recently at Hyperallergic, in the Chicago Reader, the Washington City Paper, and The Comics Journal. Formerly, he spent years writing about new records for Orlando Weekly, The Brooklyn Rail, Miami New Times, New York Press, Rockpile magazine, Phoenix New Times, XLR8R magazine, and elsewhere. He profiled producers and artists and wrote about electronic music once monthly for more than four years at Remix magazine. At Chord magazine, he was a writer and freelance editor and wrote frequently for PopMatters before he was named a contributing editor there in 2012. He was also a researcher on music journalist Tom Moon’s 1,000 Recordings To Hear Before You Die, a book you should totally read before you die. Dominic's day job is in editing at a media company in Manhattan.
